The Subjects

The Subjects

THE SUBJECTS: BROOKLYN, NEW YORK...sweet harmonic backdrops with elements of chaos and dissonance that are perfectly placed and seemingly inevitable… pit boyish innocence against the weighty reality of our world and live performances that throw crowds right in the middle.

The Subjects are confirmed to perform at MPMF09.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit

Hailing from Alabama, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will bring their unique, critically acclaimed sound to MPMF09. Described as "tough, hard, passionate, unflinching songs, unrepentant in their sense of place and direct in their stubborn Southernness", Jason Isbell is out supporting his second, self-titled release: "Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit".

SPIN Magazine (4 stars): "...Multiple tales of warm, lonely barrooms and the warm, lonely relationships they breed uncover new truths while traversing well-trod emotional terrain.

Rolling Stone: "...not to be missed."

Final weeks for submissions!

If you're interested in performing at this year's MidPoint Music Festival and you haven't submitted your materials for consideration, time is running out. Next Friday, April 17, is the "early deadline" for submissions.

If you're feeling lazy, you can submit until May 1, but it'll cost you a little more and, unless you're Metallica, you probably can't afford that. So do it now: Head on over to Sonicbids.com to find out how. For updates on the fest, be sure to keep checking mpmf.com.

Reveal Showcase & CD Release

Southgate House

Hey all, in case you haven't heard, tonight is the Launch Party for MPMF09. We will be celebrating at the Southgate House with The Pomegranates. It's their CD release event as well, so they will be performing after the Headlights. Only $8 for those of drinking age, and $11 for everyone else. Doors open at 8PM, see you there.

Two New Community Features

Time to get to work MPMF fans. We have added two new ways you can interact with the MidPoint community. First, we have a brand new forum that is currently sitting idle. You should definitely get over there and register; and start a new conversation. Talk about the great time you had last year, bands you hope perform this year, or start a facial hair contest. Just don't challenge Monty, that's a serious mustache not to be messed with.

Next, we have our twitter page. Here we are calling on you to talk up MPMF to your followers and gain notoriety while your at it. Just tag your tweet with #mpmf and we will pull it into our stream. You can also find our updates at MidPointMusic.
