Kim Taylor was born and raised in Florida. She started her musical career on the piano at age 6, played flute in the marching band then picked up the guitar as a teenager. She attended the University of Cincinnati for English Literature in hopes of becoming a short story writer and instead landed in music. In 2005 she toured with Over the Rhine as their background vocalist and supporting act. She has since toured with Ron Sexsmith, Grant Lee Phillips, Grace Potter, Aqualung, Ben Sollee and many others. She has won several songwriter awards in her current hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. NPR’s World Cafe picked Taylor as artist of the week in 2006 and she appeared on World Cafe with David Dye in 2007 along with a session on XM Radio’s, The Loft. Performing Songwriter named Taylor’s I Feel Like A Fading Light one of the best independent releases of 2007. Taylor’s songs have appeared on television in such shows as Flashpoint, Eli Stone, Army Wives, The Unit, and the Lifetime movie Gossip. Taylor has independently released two full-length albums and two EP’s. In 2008, Greg Calbi of Sterling Sound re-mastered Taylor’s I Feel Like A Fading Light and re-released it on vinyl through his new label, Experience Vinyl. She is currently holed up in her Cincinnati home, writing herself silly.
