CHILDE

Hailing from the back alleys of nouveau Brooklyn, CHILDE creates a visceral rock experience. A power trio comprised of the non-traditional instrumentation of keyboards, drums, and guitar, CHILDE’s heroic music can make a backwoods watering hole feel like Wembley Stadium. Evoking the technical and psychedelic sound of pioneering epic bands like Yes and Mahavishnu Orchestra, CHILDE’s sound collides with contemporary visionaries such as Sigur Ros, Radiohead, and The Faint. But CHILDE is not merely paying lip-service to it’s roots, it is playing the soundtrack to the atomic bomb.

It was in a cramped basement apartment in Brooklyn, where keyboardist Doran Danoff, guitarist Tyler Wenzel, and drummer David Butler sketched the initial designs for CHILDE’s exploratory sound. Drawing from their individual experiences in a variety of musical projects, CHILDE’s style of co-writing and improvisation led to the recording of a self- titled EP in 2008. Mixed and mastered by Ari Raskin (Keane, Lil Wayne, J Dilla, Fishbone), the underground EP captures the sonic fury of CHILDE and the track "Hangman's Noose" was voted a top 10 song by fans on OurStage.com. In early 2009, the band’s lineup was solidified when veteren musician, philospher and artist John Kleber stepped in on guitar. With the formula now complete, CHILDE is working on their debut full-length album expected out in the late summer of 2009.

CHILDE was handpicked to appear at the High Tide Music Festival in 2009 and has headlined NYC gigs at Sullivan Hall, Luna Lounge, Union Hall, Galapagos and Fontana’s. They have toured throughout the Northeast.
